Textile Research

In the resources I found, some use textile to mimic the flora and fauna, some apply flora and fauna into the textile. For the first one, the collection transform vintage textiles into flora and fauna. At the same time, the artist create the textiles according to animals' skin. Second and Third resources are about traditional textiles in Asian countries. The animals and plants on the textile are chose not because of their look, but the special meanings in culture. You can see, in history, people like to use animals and plants as the symbol of their believe. The last one is about creating textile that looks like snake's skin. Besides snake's skin, crocodile's skin, tiger's skin, leopard's skin and zebra's skin are also popular, because of the patterns shown on them.

Pattern Construction Process

The process of creating pattern is full of surprise, but I kind of lost my concept, because of the shape and color. They looks like flower, but they are more like cherry, not bat flower. I mean they are not unusually enough.
